Llan Mill - Green Heron
A long drive, but the weather was incredible, warm, sunny, just perfect.
Such a random site, a marshy pond in the back of a private home (albeit an impressive one), with plenty of cover for a small Heron, a small reedbed, a few trees along the periphery, alder, willow, and birch. Branches protruded out of the water and from the pond edge providing convenient perching opportunities.
The Green Heron skulked around for a while before performing beautifully, contorting its body as it stealthily scoured the water surface in search of food. A stunning bird in great company of the assembled few.
